Fitocracy wins 2015 Schweppervescence-Auraria Stks Group 3 $ 115,000 at Morphettville (SA) 3yoFillies, 1800m.
Fitocracy was another surprise winner, scoring here on the Soft7 track at $31. She was seventh, between runners, before going wide entering the home straight. She challenged (wide out) at the 200m and kept running on well to grab a last-stride win.
Kansas Sunflower was third on the rails, went through on the inside and looked the winner when she took the lead at the 200m. However, she was caught nearing the post for (half head) second, putting up a good effort, nevertheless.
Choix De Maia was beyond midfield to the 600m before improving (wide out) rounding the home turn. She then kept plugging on well (still wide out) to finish third, beaten just over two lengths.
The favourite Maastricht enjoyed a perfect trip in fourth place, made a brief run at the 300m but then dropped out to finish (6.2 lengths) a disappointing ninth in the rain-affected going.
