My Poppette wins 2015 Phillip Schuler Anzac Day Stks Listed $120,000 at Flemington (VIC) 2yo, 1400m.
My Poppette was away well from her wide barrier (14) and was taken forward to settle down in third position, three wide facing the breeze off the leading pair Let Her Rip and Jack’s Choice. She travelled particularly well into the race, challenging for the lead at the 400m before hitting the front just before the 200m. She sustained her run the whole way to the line to score a little cosily.
Lizard Island settled down in ninth position three wide with a trail. He over-raced a little in the middle stages of the race before commencing a four wide move from the 650m on the back of Gingle. He was one of the first runners to come under pressure on straightening but kept on responding, closing all the way to be closest at the line.
Petracca enjoyed a lovely run in the race, fourth on the fence on the back of the speed. He switched out into the clear in the straight in finished on gamely for third.
