Worthy Cause wins 2015 Surfers Paradise Rsl Gunsynd $125,000 at Gold Coast (QLD) 3yo, 1800m.
Worthy Cause stepped up to 1800m and handled the extra distance impressively. He travelled well in seventh place, between runners, following a strong tempo (first 1200m 1:12.77). He fanned deep, under riding, at the home turn but responded well to hit the lead at the 200m. He then raced away to win by two lengths. He is a really promising staying three-year-old.
Upham raced in second place, following a good pace. He got to a narrow lead nearing the 200m and then fought on well for second.
Chillin With Dylan was back in second last place in the ten-horse field before making a wide run rounding the home turn. He then kept battling on soundly, making ground for third.
Ulmann had a nice trip, third on the rails to the home turn and looked to have every chance before finishing (3.6 lengths) fourth.
