Prince Of Brooklyn wins 2015 Seven News National Stakes Group 3 $115,000 at Morphettville (SA) 2yo, 1200m.
Prince Of Brooklyn impressed in winning this Group race on debut. He raced in fifth place, between runners, following a quick tempo. He got a split on straightening, challenged at the 200m and then raced away to win easily by just over two lengths. It was a smart performance.
Badajoz raced in fourth on the rails, was blocked on straightening but got along the rails from the 150m. He then battled on nicely for grab second, having no chance with the winner.
Counter Pulse was seventh on the rails and was briefly held up on turning for home. He went through to fourth at the 200m and then fought on well for third, narrowly missing second in a photo.
The favourite Strykum was urged to improve from her inside barrier (1) in the early stages and drove through to hold a narrow lead. But she was continued to be pressured in front and weakened after her early efforts from the 100m to finish (3.3 lengths) fourth.
