Petits Filous wins 2015 Lister Quezette Stakes Group 3 $150,000 at Caulfield (VIC) 3yoFillies, 1100m.
Highly promising filly Petits Filous remains unbeaten after three starts and continues to impress. She was smartly away and soon took the lead but she was then pressured in the early stages, setting up a solid pace. She briefly looked under threat on passing the 200m but responded to win well, again scoring in quick time, this race being run 1.32 seconds faster than the colts and geldings ran in the previous race, the Vain Stakes (Gr 3, 1100m).
Jalan Jalan settled back in seventh place, being urged to retain her position in this quickly run race. She fanned deep on turning for home, got to fifth at the 100m and kept finishing well to take a very good second. She will appreciate further and also looks a quality filly.
South Australian trained filly Miss Gunpowder was quickly away from barrier nine, was second early on before easing to travel in third place, one off the rails. She challenged strongly at the 200m and then fought on well for third, putting up a smart effort at her first Melbourne start.
Don't Doubt Marley was eased from a wide barrier and raced near last in the 12-horse field before improving (very deep) rounding the home turn. She then ran on particularly well for (2.2 lengths) fourth in a really smart effort, stepping up in class here.
Take Pride worked to race outside the leader and held on nicely for a sound (3.7 lengths) fifth.
