Wink And A Nod wins 2015 Farnley Stakes Listed $100,000 at Belmont Park (WA) 3yo+, 1400m.
Wink And A Nod took her record to 11 wins from 24 starts with another smart performance here. She was again ridden quietly by Lucy Warwick and remained in second last place in the nine-horse field to the 600m, following a moderate early tempo (first 800m 50.45). She switched deep nearing the home turn, showed a good turn of foot to hit the front at the 100m and drew away to win easily, despite her 59kg top weight.
Ask Me Nicely was seventh on the rails, looked for a run between runners on straightening and came with a late run to grab second in a photo.
Cool Trade raced outside the leader (Resonates), looked set to run second at the 100m but was caught nearing the post to finish third.
