Peeping wins 2015 McDonald House Golden Pendant Group 2 $400,000 at Rosehill (NSW) 3yo+Fillies & Mares, 1400m.
Peeping was smartly away from her good barrier (3) and settled nicely in fourth place, one out and one back. She switched deep on turning for home, moved up strongly, hit the front at the 100m and then went on to score quite impressively.
Two Blue went to the front as expected, set quite a good pace and then fought back strongly when challenged for a very good second.
Berry Delicious was near last on the rails, made ground between runners on straightening, getting through to third at the 100m and then fought on to take the minor placing in a solid effort. Vergara raced outside the leader (Two Blue) until into the home straight and held on well for (2.4 lengths) fourth.
Favourite Catkins raced well below her best. She was sixth to the 600m, was under pressure from the home turn before finishing (3.4 lengths) fifth.
Second favourite Arabian Gold was third on the rails, struggled on turning for home and then dropped out to finish last in an effort that suggested that something may be amiss but a subsequent vet inspection did not reveal anything.
