Shakespearean Lass wins 2016 W.J. Adams Stakes Listed $120000 at Caulfield (VIC), 1000m.
Shakespearean Lass showed pace to settle in third place, behind a really solid tempo before moving up on rounding the home turn. She got to the front coming to the 100m and then lifted gamely to score in a photo, and in quick time (56.91).
Trevinder raced back in fifth place, one off the rails. He tracked the winner into the straight, challenged strongly nearing the 100m and kept finishing well to just miss in a photo, putting up a good effort for second.
Grane was last in the ten-horse field coming to the home turn. He went deep on straightening and made ground for a good third.
Of the favoured runners, Reldas settled at the tail of the field, was under riding on turning for home and made late ground, without threatening, for (1.7 lengths) sixth while Atmospherical was just beyond midfield in sixth place, one off the rails. She put in a run at the 200m and kept battling on for (2 lengths) seventh.
