All Gee wins 2016 Raconteur Stakes Listed $100,000 at Ascot (WA) 3yo, 1500m.
All Gee worked up to settle in second position about two lengths from Cubitt And Cundy. All Gee closed the gap on the leader approaching the home turn and loomed up on turning for home. He hit the front inside the final 200m and despite laying in a bit under pressure had enough in hand to hold off the late lunge of Showy Chloe on his outside.
Showy Chloe was trapped a little wide in the early stages and was forced to work before getting in one off the fence in third position on the outside of All Gee. She turned for home three and four wide before finishing on gamely the whole way to the line to just miss. A good effort considering the extra ground she was forced to cover in the run.
Cubitt And Cundy ran along in front and tired in the straight holding on for third.
