Spright wins 2016 Brian Crowley Stakes Listed $150,000 at Randwick (NSW) 3yo, 1200m.
Off a last start Rosehill win, Spright took her record to two wins and four placings from seven starts for her easiest win yet, scoring in fast time here. She drew six of 11 and Jason Collett settled her worse than midfield (off the fence) passing the 800m. A sharp move approaching the last corner saw Spright widest but close enough to challenge and passing the 300m she went clear and ran away over the last 200m to score easily.
Star of Monsoon was last on the corner and last turning in then unwound strongly out in the centre of the track to grab second short of the post.
Faraway Town was second last approaching the last corner, accelerated quickly into the straight and ran on well to the post, just losing second in the last stride. Despite their strong finishes, neither second nor third was ever going to catch the winner.
