Cylinder Beach wins 2016 Sky Racing Tatt’s Recognition Listed $100,000 at Eagle Farm (QLD), 1400m.
The promising Desleigh Forster-trained four-year-old Cylinder Beach scored a smart first up win. He settled back in 12th place, on the rails, was under riding at the 600m but kept responding, took a split at the 200m, hit the front at the 100m and then went on to win well, looking suited to further.
Hopfgarten had a good trip in fifth place from barrier 11, moved up well on straightening, looked the winner at the 200m and then battled gamely under his top weight (60kg) for a very good second, conceding 6kg to the winner.
Feltre settled in seventh place on the rails from his good barrier (2). He got along the inner to challenge at the 200m and then battled well to hold third.
Rudy settled in ninth place, improved (deep) at the 600m and kept battling on well for a sound (2.1 lengths) fourth at his second run this preparation.
