The Hayes/Hayes/Dabernig training combination continued its dominance of two year old races when Plutocracy opened his winning account at start number one over 1000 metres, the only race to be run on the main track on Saturday at Morphettville.
Having the services of Clare Lindop Plutocracy held down a forward position before going on to win convincingly.
On a day that saw first starters win the first two races Atlantis Bar took out the 1000 metre second race.An $18,000 purchase at last year’s Adelaide Magic Millions sale the Lloyd Kennewell prepared Joe Bowditch guided Atlantic Bar began well and maintained a good position throughout.
Trainer Phillip Stokes added another win to his tally when Smart Manoeuvre brought up her first win in the 1300 metre third race.Piloted by Stokes’ apprentice Emily Finnegan Smart Manoeuvre settled well back before improving steadily to win by a comfortable margin.
A copy book ride by hoop Shayne Cahill saw Royal Request won the 2400 metre fourth race.Being under the care of Stuart Gower Royal Request, who nearly fell at the home turn, came from last with a saloon run along the rails to take the event.
Having his first ride at Morphettville Victorian apprentice Mitchell Aitken put in a superb ride when he guided Angelology to a win in the 1950 metre fifth race.Not having raced since June last year the Patrick Payne trained Angelology came with a strong run over the concluding stages from a near last position.
Veteran Strathalbyn trainer Brian Mueller tasted victory when Oamaro Owl took out the 1000 metre sixth race.Guided to victory by former Hong Kong/Tasmania apprentice Victor Wong who has recently relocated to SA brought Oamaro Owl three wide to win.
Hoop Joe Bowditch brought up his second winner for the day when he guided Soju Warrior to a win in the 1550 metre seventh race.Being under the care of Mark Kavanagh, Soju Warrior was on the pace all the way and brought up his second win from five starts.
Peninsular Links brought up his second win on the Parks track for as many starts in a decisive win in the 1400 metre eighth race.Being on the pace for the entire journey the Daniel Clarken trained Peninsular Links scored its fourth win from eight starts.
After riding two consecutive seconds in the first two races Jamie Kah broke through for a win when she guided Miss Identified to victory in the final event of 1300 metres.Being under the care of Travis Doudle Miss Identified came with a strong run from a rearward position to win the final event.
