Milwaukee wins 2017 Bendigo Guineas Listed $150,000 at Bendigo (VIC) 3yo, 1400m.
Milwaukee got away best and immediately took up the pace, was challenged early but maintained the lead, if narrowly. Rider Patrick Moloney sat quietly and edged the colt a half length clear at the 600m and by a length turning in. Into the straight they broke clear and enjoyed a three length advantage inside the 200m, too much for the chasers and he was eased down to score his third win in seven starts.
Sword Of Light was handy from the outset, sat outside the winner to the turn then kept up a steady run without any chance, then holding on for second.
Kazio was well back approaching the last corner, pulled widest and put in a dogged run but too late for third.
So Poysed was handy enough behind the leading group to the straight and ran on late to nab fourth.
