Tiyatrolani wins 2017 Mandate Mick Dittman Plate Listed $100,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1050m.
The Tony Gollan-trained filly Tiyatrolani scored a narrow but good first up win, her first stakes success in nine starts to date. She began well and settled nicely in fourth place, got a split on straightening going to second shortly afterwards. She went to the front at the 100m and then fought back to score in photo. River Racer settled at the tail of the 14-horse field, got between runners rounding the home turn going to sixth at the 200m. She then kept running on well, failing only narrowly for a late-closing second.
Ringo’s A Rockstar settled in sixth place on the rails from his good barrier (2). He got a split at the home turn, took a narrow lead at the 200m and then kept battling on well for a close up third.
The favourite Guard Of Honour was slowly away, was last early on before settling in second last place. He was blocked nearing the home turn and kept running on, in restricted room, to finish an untested and unlucky (3.7 lengths) seventh.
