Burning Front wins 2017 Hughes Limousines R A Lee Stks Group 3 $250,000 at Morphettville (SA), 1600m.
Burning Front is enjoying terrific form, this his seventh win from his last eight starts and 18 wins in total. As expected, he burst to the lead from barrier eight finding the fence passing the 1400m. Jockey Brad Rawiller sat quietly until the 500m then moved out slightly and was passed briefly on his inner by Hooked who had sat inhis trail from the outset.
These two drew clear at the top of the straight and had a mighty head-for-head, stride-for-stride tussle right to the wire with Burning Front doing slightly better near the post. Hooked was not at all disgraced in running second; they had the finish to themselves.
Rhythm To Spare was fourth past the 600m, pulled wide and ran on for a distant third from Beluga Blue who battled away into fourth.
