Sweet Redemption wins 2017 Toy Show Qlty Group 3 $150,000 at Randwick (NSW), 1300m.
Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained mare Sweet Redemption is building an impressive record, scoring her second Group victory and her sixth win (with nine placings) in 22 starts. She showed her customary pace to lead from her inside barrier (1), travelled along at a good pace, before dashing clear on turning for home. She then fought back particularly well to score by a head, putting up a really good effort.
Euro Angel did not show any early pace and settled in seventh place on the rails from her good barrier (2). She improved between runners on straightening and ran on strongly when clear for a late-closing second, looking somewhat unlucky in a promising first up effort.
The favourite Imposing Lass raced in fourth place, one out and one back, before improving nicely nearing the home turn. She challenged at the 200m and kept fighting gamely for a close-up third, also going well at her first run this preparation.
