Crack Me Up wins 2017 Sky Racing Tatt’s Recognition Listed $100,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1350m.
Enjoying a consistent run of form, Crack Me Up came away in the final stages to win convincingly for his second black-type win in his last three starts and fourth in total - all stakes races.
He got away fairly but had to settle for being a handy third (rails) to just before the straight where jockey Matthew McGillivray eased out, first one width then another width once into the straight. At the 200m he collared the leaders and full of running bounded clear to win easily.
Torgersen was well back at the top of the straight then dived through along the fence for a fast finishing second from Hopfgarten who ranged up turning in to take over the lead, co-led at the 100m but was out-finished late for a good third.
Too Good To Refuse who was held up at the 200m and flashed along the fence for fourth when the race was over.
