Most Important wins 2017 Night Owl Lough Neagh Stakes Listed $150,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1350m.
The well favoured Snoopy and Monsieur Gustave set a testing pace, duelling for the lead while the eventual winner Most Important enjoyed a good trip in third spot. He moved up nicely rounding the home turn, went to the front at the 200m before going on to score well.
Torgersen raced back in second last place in the 11-horse field, saved ground on the inner at the home turn, got through to fourth at the 200m and then battled on well for second.
Privlaka, who was chasing his third successive win, raced towards the tail of the field, looked for a split on straightening and finished nicely along the rails for a late-closing third while Monsieur Gustave tired for (4.2 lengths) seventh and Snoopy tired for (4.4 lengths) eighth after their premature efforts.
