Don’tbabylon wins 2017 Magic Millions Nudgee Stakes Listed $125,000, Doomben (QLD), 1200m.
In another surprise result, the Matt Dunn-trained mare Don’tbabylon, who was lucky to gain a start after being the fourth emergency, scored at odds of $41. She began well from her difficult barrier (15) was sixth (out deep) early on before Jeff Lloyd made a quick move to take her to the front at the 800m. She got a break on turning for home and then held on gamely after her early efforts to win well.
Notonyourlife settled back in tenth place, on the rails, from her good barrier (3). She got between runners at the home turn, went deeper at the 200m and came with a late run to take second.
Pepperano settled nicely in fifth place on the rails from her inside barrier (1), angled into clear running at the 200m and then ran on well for third.
The favourite Invincibella raced back in 11th place before improving along the rails on straightening. She then kept responding to riding, making late ground in restricted room for (1.1 lengths) fourth.
