Nozomi wins 2018 Autumn Hcp Group 3 $150,000 at Flemington (VIC), 1400m.
Nozomi took out win six and his earnings to $533,720 with a tough win here. He dropped back to second last early after beginning fairly and remained back of midfield around the big bend, improving to fifth approaching the home straight with rider Jye McNeil saving precious ground throughout.
Into the straight McNeil waited until the 400m to ease away from the rail and until the 300m to challenge, pulling into the lead inside the 200m then holding on gamely by a neck at the line.
Violate was well back (rails) at the 400m then was blocked for a run all the way to the 100m before flashing through to grab second from Cool Chap who joined in at the 300m and kept on well for third. Widest in the run home, Amovatio kept up a solid run to finish fourth.
