Midweek racing from Caulfield Heath & Warwick Farm and we’ve got a horse to follow from each meeting.
Caulfield Heath Race 1 – Reach The Peak
Big run in defeat from this three-year-old gelding by Grunt who had to switch off heels late in the straight after looking for runs up the inside, only getting clear with 100m to go and charging to miss by a nose. He looks a big, strong, raw type who will get over more ground than this and a bigger track next time out looks the pointer to getting a result.
Warwick Farm Race 5 – Fulfilled
Maybe one for a few runs down the track but I thought this Australian Bloodstock horse did enough fresh over 1600m, getting home into fifth late over 1600m. He's rated 93 on the RAS scale so nothing special, but this is his best Australian run and it may be a case of an import in their second prep getting settled here. Look for him third or fourth up, ideally when he gets to 2400m.
