Craig Carmody will refrain from throwing Single into the deep end this campaign with the Doncaster Mile bolter instead expected to find himself in an easier affair next start.
Single worked his way into Doncaster Mile calculations with an eye catching last start success in the Listed Sky High Stakes (1900m) at Rosehill on March 24.
The High Chaparral gelding was not penalised for the win but with his Benchmark rating rising from 86 to 96, had worked his way up to 48th in the Doncaster Mile Order Of Entry.
Trainer Craig Carmody earlier this week had nominated his stable star for the Group 3 Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on Saturday which would have been the four-year-olds final lead up into the prestigious mile event.
Connections didn't accept for the event and Single for his next start will instead contest the Listed JRA Plate (2000m) at Randwick on April 21.
The four-year-old is currently quoted as a $51 chance for the Doncaster Mile with TAB Sportsbet Fixed odds.
