Sydney apprentice Alysha Collett stuck to the rule that the shortest way home is along the rails when she guided the Chris Waller trained Gullible to win the Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap at Rosehill on Saturday.

Volutina and Nash Rawiller had gone off from the from the barriers into a big lead, 3L at the top of the main straight, with the Holy Roman Emperor filly not wanting to settle for Rawiller.
Collett had waited patiently with Gullible and Rawiller had rolled off the rails from the 400m leaving a tempting gap. Eventually at the 250m, when Volutina quickly faded, Collett took up the invitation.
Gullible went through the gap with ease and away they went to a good lead. The filly drifted out under Collett's riding but they were well clear of the chasers and went to the line with 1 1/4L to spare.
Bennetta and Brenton Avdulla came late for second with Lifesaver Lady and Tommy Berry were third, the margin 1/2L.
The time was 1.10.58 on the Good 3 track with the final 600m in 34.90. Gullible paid $4.50 on NSW TAB.
“I had a look at her in her box yesterday and she just looked immaculate and if anything she has put on weight. Attitude wise she is handling it very well, aided by some good rides, not just today but previously and it has given her a lot of confidence for a horse that is still a preparation away,” said Waller.
“Alysha capped it off today. That was a sensational ride for an apprentice on one of the favourites and she did a great job so well done,” he said.
“She did everything right and we got all the favours and it was very good,” said Collett.
