Pierro has ramped up his autumn preparations with a three length trial win at Rosehill over 1030m on Tuesday morning.
In his first public outing since placing in the 2012 Cox Plate (2040m) behind Ocean Park, Pierro cruised to a comfortable trial win in a 1030m open heat posting a time of 1:03:2.
Mark Newnham settled the Lonhro colt outside of the speed set by stablemate King Cobia and wasted no time in moving away from his rivals in the straight.
A campaign path is expected to be confirmed for Pierro over the coming days with the Triple Crown-winner entered for Group 1 features such as the Newmarket Handicap, Australian Guineas and the Doncaster Mile.
