Racing and Sports will provide analysis of games in the 2024 AFL Season.
We'll endeavour to run through the form, incorporate appropriate stats and also supply a betting prediction which won't always just be who will win.
GWS v SYDNEY
Saturday 22 June @ Engie Stadium
We've seen plenty of these battles, which are relatively well established in Sydney's favour, go against the grain and this one shapes the same way.
Best summing that up is it's 17/10 overall to the Swans but 3/0 to the Giants in Finals – that could play a role in September.
GWS were OK in a scrappy game over Port. It probably best sums up their season. Very much win loss win loss and clunky as well.
They need Toby Greene to be firing as his record over the rivals has seen some famous moments but also are in need of the big forwards all working together.
Most will go into this game thinking the same thing – will Sydney get off to a better start and will that in fact help or hinder them? It doesn't always compute that night follows day on that level.
You also can't expect Amartey to snag 9 each week. But what that does is mean the defence has to be concentrating hard. He has created good contests.

Logic says Sydney wins again but has their recent need to flick the in-game switch got the opportunity to not work at some time?
Having said that, was all set to confidently give GWS one more chance thinking they'd be on top of their game for four quarters.
They can still win but the Sam Taylor out is very big. The Swans are due for a minor lull and this is the side capable of taking advantage.
