Group 1 juvenile to join Seymour base.
Group 1-winning juvenile Royal Meeting (Invincible Spirit) will stand at Aquis Farm's Seymour base in 2020 for an introductory fee of $11,000 (inc GST).
Partnering with Aquis in Royal Meeting are Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Seymour Bloodstock, Mangalore Park, Yarran Thoroughbreds, Damian White, Ralph Portaro, Paul Crawford, David & Kathy Brown and Erinvale Thoroughbreds.
Trained by Saeed bin Suroor, Royal Meeting broke his maiden over seven furlongs on his first start, before going on to win the Criterium International (Gr 1, 1400m) at Chantilly just over a month later, beating Hermosa (Galileo), who went on to land the English and Irish 1000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1m) the following year.
"We felt there was enormous potential to stand Group 1 winner Royal Meeting at Seymour alongside Lean Mean Machine and the recently announced Needs Further, consolidating our position within Victoria," stated Aquis CEO Tubba Williams.
Raced by Godolphin, Royal Meeting is out of South African Grade 1 winner Rock Opera (Lecture), making him a half-brother to multiple Group 2 scorer Heavy Metal (Exceed And Excel).
Rock Opera herself is a sister to Grade 1-placed Rock Concert - the dam of 2018 Gold Medallion (Gr 1, 6f) winner Van Halen (Oratorio), while Rock Opera is also a half-sister to the dam of Grade 1 winner Gulf Stream (Sail From Seattle) and Grade 3 winner Seattle Singer (Sail From Seattle) and Listed scorer Global Drummer (Global View).
"Being physically similar to I Am Invincible, plus having the added attribute of being a Group 1- winning unbeaten two-year-old with a fabulous pedigree, Royal Meeting ticks all the boxes that Aquis look for when selecting a stallion," said Williams.
"No matter what way you look at it, Royal Meeting is the epitome of Group 1 class, giving breeders the opportunity to access an outstanding Group 1-winning stallion, with a Group 1 race record from an active Group 1 pedigree."
