Boherguy Stud-consigned foal purchased for €45,000 while Belardo filly sells for €33,000

A filly foal by Dawn Approach (New Approach) stole the spotlight at the Tattersalls Ireland November Flat Foal and Breeding Stock Sale on Wednesday after Clongan House went to €45,000 for the Boherguy Stud-consigned youngster. 

Catalogued as Lot 925, the foal is out of winning mare My Fere Lady (Mr Greeley), who has already produced one winner. 

My Fere Lady herself is one of four winners out of Saintly Hertfield (Saint Ballado), who is a daughter of Grade 2 winner Theresa's Tizzy (Cee's Tizzy) - the dam of Grade 3 winner Got The Last Laugh (Distorted Humor) and Listed scorer Puddifoot (Red Giant). 

Later on in the afternoon, a filly by Haunui Farm shuttler Belardo (Lope De Vega) was purchased by BBA Ireland for €33,000. 

Offered by Ballybin Stud and catalogued as Lot 1004, the filly is the third foal out of Cape Cross (Green Desert) Fashion Line, who has already produced one winner. 

Fashion Line is a half-sister to Listed winner Ashwa Bravo (Leitir Mor) and the dam of Group 2 scorer Princess Yaiza (Casamento).

Belardo’s progeny is headed by stakes-winning quartet Isabella Giles, Lullaby Moon, Elysium, Belloccio and Avonallo, who won the Welcome Stakes (Listed, 1000m) Riccarton. Belardo stood at Haunui Farm for a fee of NZ$10,000 (plus GST) in 2020.

At the close of trade 72 lots sold for €439,700 at an average of €6,107, while the median was recorded as €3,000.
