Shenzhou Steeds (Ishiguru x Sun City, by Spectacular Love) remains unbeaten in five Queensland starts after the four-year-old carried 58kg to a seven-length win at his first start over 2400m.

Shenzhou Steeds joined Moroney's Australian team after his brother Paul secured the gelding on behalf of stable clients after he was passed in for NZ$40,000 with a reserve of NZ$50,000 at the 2009 New Zealand Bloodstock Select Yearling Sale. He has won seven of his 15 career starts and earnings of $397,574.

He won the Tattersall's Cup at Eagle Farm at his previous start and may now go on to the Grafton Cup before a spring campaign.

Shenzhou Steeds is one of six individual stakes winners by Danzig's former shuttle stallion Ishiguru, who died in 2009.

Shenzhou Steeds is out of the winning mare Sun City (Spectacular Love) whose three foals to date have all been winners.

In addition to Shenzhou Steeds they include the stakes placed Sun Valley (Van Nistelrooy).

His second dam Stravaganza (Busted) is the dam of G1 winner Reganza, dam o the G1 VRC Oaks winner Kensington Palace (Kingston Rule).

* PROMISING sprinter Malavio became the ninth stakes winner for his sire Snitzel with his impressive victory in the Listed Civic Quality at Rosehill on Saturday.

Malavio is the 19th individual stakes performer and sixth stakeswinner this season for Snitzel.

The Arrowfield Stud-based son of Redoute's Choice heads the Australian 3rd Season Sires' list and holds 9th position on the General Sires' premiership with $5.3 million prizemoney, his banner performers being his first G1 winner, the high-class 2YO colt Sizzling, and Golden Slipper second Snitzerland.

Malavio is from the Randwick winner Win Here Win There (Dehere) and is raced by his breeder Ottavio Galletta and trained at Warwick Farm by Steve Englebrecht.

Malavio has now won six of his 14 starts and more than $200,000.

He is the first winner from his dam's three named foals. Win Here Win There is due to foal again to Snitzel in September.

His second-dam Our Fiction (Zoffany) won the 1993 Magic Millions 2YO Classic and is from the family of the dual G1 winner True Version (Bletchingly).

* COOLMORE's top class sire Choisir posted a century of winners for the season when his talented filly Embark added to her consistent record at Rosehill on Saturday.

From the stables of Hawkes Racing, Embark broke through at her third run back from a spell after two close seconds at Rosehill.

Retained to race by her breeder Gerry Ryan, Embark has the smart record of three wins and six seconds from 12 starts with prizemoney of $214,455.

Embark is a half-sister to stakes-placed Carnero and Gratis, being one of four winners from the Octagonal mare Matter.

Choisir has sired five Australian stakes winners this season. They are the G2 winner Celtic Dancer, Uxorious, Scorpio Queen, Psychologist and Kid Choisir.

The sire of multiple GI winners Starspangledbanner and Sacred Choice is standing at Coolmore Australia on a fee of $27,500 this spring.

* BRAHMS gelding Belltone took his earnings past $400,000 with his win the Listed Glasshouse Sprint at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.

Belltone has won eight of his 25 starts and been placed nine times for earnings of $413,550.

He is out of the winning Salieri mare Belle Salieri who has produced six winners including other stakes winner being Roman Squire (Desert King). Belltone's second dam Exclusive Empress (Ideal Planet) produced three winners including the stakes performer Drama Amour (Tristram).

She is a half sister to Yallah Prince (Yallah Native).

* NUREYEV'S son Black Hawk, now standing in Japan, sired his eighth stakeswinner when the filly Tuskegee Hawk won the Listed Sunshine Coast Guineas at Corbould Park on Saturdayt.

Black Hawk previously stood in Victoria and is now at Japan's Breeders' Stallion Station.

Tuskegee Hawk (Black Hawk x Cosi Fan Tutte by Snippets) has now won four of her nine career starts and earnings of $97,900.

She is out of the unraced Snippets mare Cosi Fan Tutte who has produced two winners to date.

Her third dam is Evanesce produced nine winners including the G1 winner Daring Jon (Jon George).

* VERSATILE sire Mossman earned high praise from trainer Clint McDonald after the four-year-old Forty Thirty won the Don Abell Cup at Caulfield on Saturday.

“The Mossmans are a terrific breed,” McDonald claimed. “We've had a good run with them. He's also the sire of Second Effort who won the Wangoom for us at the Warrnambool carnival last month.”

Forty Thirty (Mossman x Sacred Mountain by Flying Spur) is a homebred for Ascot Lodge owners Les and Deb Cowell.

His dam Sacred Mountain won races at Kembla Grange and the Sunshine Coast for the Cowells when she was trained by Gerald Ryan.

Forty Thirty began his career with Ryan before transferring to McDonald at the start of the current season.

Mossman's progeny have won more than $5 million in Australian this season and he placed in the top 15 on the general sires' premiership.

His top performers this season have included G1 Coolmore Classic winner Ofcourseican and crack sprinter Buffering who has been placed in six G1 events.

Mossman stands for a $27,500 at Vinery Stud.
