Ed Walker may consider a tilt at the Prix Maurice de Gheest for Aeolus after the four-year-old provided the highlight of a remarkable four-timer for the Newmarket trainer in the Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle on Saturday.

It is possible Aeolus could turn out quickly in a Group Three across the Channel next week if the ground is suitable.

"He might run next Sunday in a Group Three in France (Prix de Ris-Orangis at Maisons-Laffitte), but he's so ground dependent," said Walker.

"We'll probably make an entry in the Maurice de Gheest for him as well."

Walker awaits the handicapper's reaction after Bushcraft made it three wins from three starts since returning from a 21-month absence.

The four-year-old was the other leg of a Newcastle double for Walker when taking the six-furlong handicap in good style.

The trainer then went on to have a brace at Doncaster's evening meeting.

"Saturday was an amazing day, a really special day," he said.

"Bushcraft is an absolute star. We'll have a look at the Bunbury Cup but I think Newmarket might come a bit too quick for him, so we'll see," he said.

"We'll see what the handicapper does. We might go to France for a stakes race, but I haven't made any immediate plans yet.

"There's the Stewards' Cup but I'm not sure the track at Goodwood will suit him. I think he has the ability to be competitive in big races."
