Ar Mad is a notable absentee from the rearranged Clarence House Chase at Cheltenham on Saturday.

As a Grade One contest, the British Horseracing Authority saved the race from Ascot's frozen-off meeting last weekend.

However, while Willie Mullins stated almost immediately that Un De Sceaux would make the journey to the Cotswolds, Ar Mad's trainer Gary Moore was non-committal and in the end decided not to run.

Moore said: "We've decided not to put him in.

"We'll save him for Ascot, now, and step him up in trip for the Ascot Chase in February."

As well as Un De Sceaux, Irish interests are represented by Special Tiara, with Henry de Bromhead's charge likely to be better served by the good ground at Cheltenham as he was not declared in the final field at Ascot.

Alan King has entered Uxizandre, but the 2015 Ryanair winner has the option of a handicap on the card as well as the possibility of a race at Doncaster.

Dodging Bullets, Eastlake, Royal Regatta and Top Gamble complete the seven entries.
