Look My Way is bound for the Cheltenham Festival in March after giving Apple's Shakira a fright in the Triumph Hurdle Trial at Prestbury Park on Saturday.

The Nicky Henderson-trained Apple's Shakira was the 1-7 favourite to extend her unbeaten record to four in the Grade Two contest and confirm her place at the head of ante-post lists for the Triumph Hurdle itself.

Look My Way, who was beaten on his hurdling debut at Newcastle but opened his account in impressive style at Ludlow, briefly looked to have the market leader in trouble rounding the home turn and while she ultimately went on to score decisively, trainer John Quinn was delighted with how his charge performed in defeat.

The son of Pour Moi is 33-1 for the Triumph Hurdle, but is more likely to go down the handicap route in the Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle, for which he is a best-priced 20-1.

Quinn said: "He ran a very good race and we're very pleased with him.

"We've given him an entry in the Triumph Hurdle, but at this stage I'd say the Fred Winter is more likely. He was rated 130 before Saturday and he's 135 now, so I would think he'll go straight there.

"He is in the Triumph, so we will look at it. A lot can happen between now and then to any horse, including him, so we'll see.

"He coped with the ground well the other day, but it was very soft and he isn't the biggest horse in the world and I do think he might be a bit better on better ground."
