Chris Waller-trained stablemates Amovatio and Moriarty will test their credentials for the Perth summer carnival in the Group One Emirates Stakes.
While 2013 Emirates Stakes winner Boban has been diverted to the Group One sprint on the final day of the Melbourne Cup carnival, trainer Chris Waller will still have two runners in the feature mile.
Veteran Moriarty and five-year-old Amovatio will run in Saturday's Group One Emirates Stakes (1600m) with both on trial for a trip to the Perth carnival.
Moriarty has already been to the west before, running third in the last year's Railway Stakes before winning Kingston Town Stakes.
The Group One double is on the radar for both horses if they can perform well in the Emirates.
Amovatio won the Listed Weekend Hussler Stakes at his first start of the campaign before running sixth in the Vase at Moonee Valley.
"He didn't handle Moonee Valley at all and he will be much better suited at Flemington," Waller said.
"Moriarty is doing well and they will both go to Perth if their form warrants it."
Amovatio ended his winter preparation with victory in the Winter Championship final at Flemington after winning a heat of the series.
Waller's skill with European imports is well known with eight-year-old Moriarty an example of his philosophy.
"We don't buy the really expensive horses from Europe," Waller said.
"We buy horses to win Saturday races in Sydney and then see where they can go from there.
"Moriarty is typical of a horse which has been great for his owners."
Moriarty came to Australia as the winner of two races and a little more than $70,000.
He has added 11 wins to his record and his prize money now stands at almost $1.8 million.
Moriarty hasn't raced since his fourth in the Craven Stakes at Randwick early last month and is the $81 outsider in the Emirates with Amovatio a $21 chance in the market headed by Bow Creek ($4.60).
Boban, meanwhile, runs in Saturday's Group One Darley Classic (1200m) to test him down the straight ahead of a possible trip to England next year.
Waller would like to aim him at the sprint races at Royal Ascot which are also run on straight tracks.
