Post race reports from May 25-28.
RANDWICK – Saturday May 28
Race 1: Stable representative P Reid reported that Abstract had pulled up well following its disappointing performance and reiterated that the filly had not handled the rain affected track conditions. He added that it was the intention for Abstract to continue its campaign during the Brisbane winter carnival.
Race 4: Trainer Joe Pride advised that a subsequent veterinary examination of Geared Up had revealed the gelding to be displaying soreness in the back region. Pride was advised that he would be required to furnish a veterinary certificate as to Geared Up's suitability to race prior to its next start.
Race 5: Stable representative A Kelly reported that Zutara had pulled up well following its performance and the stable had changed plans for the filly, which would now not start for another fortnight.
Race 6: Stable representative B Smith advised that Sir Fox had pulled up well with no abnormalities detected. He added that Sir Fox had been transferred to the Queensland stable in the hope of finding some dry tracks.
RACE 8: Trainer Joe Pride advised that a subsequent veterinary examination of Othello had revealed the gelding to be displaying soreness in the back region. Pride was advised that he would be required to furnish a veterinary certificate as to Othello's suitability to race prior to its next start.
CANTERBURY – Wednesday May 25
Race 7: Trainer Rick Worthington advised that, following Shanty's poor performance, the gelding had pulled up well. Worthington advised that Shanty is a horse that has had some hoof issues previously and this will continue to be managed by his veterinarian and farrier. He added it is his intention to trial Shanty at the Warwick Farm trials on June 10.
