The Simon Miller trained Sujet created a big impression in his maiden campaign and appears well placed to make a winning return at Belmont on Saturday.
Having only been narrowly beaten on debut in the Listed Placid Arc Stakes the son of Vital Equine would go on to finish a close eighth in Group 3 company prior to a break.
Although he may have struggled to see out the seven furlongs on that occasion the drop back to 1000m appears ideal and he has since trialled very impressively off a break.
On Timeform weight adjusted ratings Sujet sits well clear and while the red odds about him does seem a bit skinny we struggle to see him getting beat on the weekend.
If priced aggressively we can get him as a short as $1.50 and see him as a good way to begin the meeting.
A encouraging performance first up leaves the Neville Parnham trained Dominating well placed to return to the winner's stall in the final event.
Having mixed his form last time in he showed great signs last start when working home strongly to only be narrowly beaten.
His best form seems him rated on top of current favourite Thateldo and his record second up is very impressive.
In seven attempts at Belmont he has saluted on four occasions and is yet to miss the money and from the good draw he should get a beautiful run in transit.
Trading Day and Thateldo ensure the race will be run at a good solid tempo and expect Dominating to be charging home late right in the finish.
Currently installed a 4-1 chance seems a more than fair gamble as we have him favourite in our market and more than happy to play him up at his current quote.
One that does appear under the odds on Saturday is the Neville Parnham trained Top Show as while she impressed saluting last time out it seems likely that she will get a long way back from the wide draw and be left with too much to do in the straight.
Keysbrook, Myboypaul and Fathing Fast all appear to have solid claims in this affair and happy to take on Top Show at this stage.
