Best From The West - September 17

3 minute read

The Justin Warwick trained Amelia's Love couldn't have been any more impressive first up and appears well placed to bring up the hat-trick at Belmont on Saturday.

Due to line up in the fifth event, the daughter of Blackfriars was a distinct sectional star fresh when working home powerfully to score over 1000m.

An impressive winner on debut at Bunbury, Amelia's Love has clearly gone to another level off a break and it's hard to see her taking a backwards step on the weekend.

She is unbeaten over this trip and if able to settle closer to the speed she is sure to prove very hard to hold out.

A shade better than 6-4 ($2.60) is the best on offer about her chances and in truth we feel that is a superb gamble.

We have her marked well into the red and hence she presents a great overlay opportunity.

Her closing sectionals last start were simply electric and if able to replicate that on Saturday she should prove extremely hard to beat.

In the third event, the Daniel Morton trained King Louie also presents good value following his eye catching run first up at Northam.

While beaten as favourite the race clearly wasn't run to suit and he is expected to display sharp improvement racing second up.

Under the set-weights conditions he is very well placed on best form and with the Wizard sticking aboard he looks to set a decent standard.

Overall Pike is striking at 22% with the Morton stable and should receive all the favours from the inside draw.

As much as 2-1 is being offered about his chances, which in a capacity field may seem short enough, however we have him marked a toss of coin shot and hence are more than happy to play.

As a side note, TopBetta will continue its King Of The Spring tournament (Golden Rose King) on Saturday ($30K Total Prize Pool) and while Belmont won't play a part it is definitely worth checking out - Click Here .
