Best From The West - May 13

3 minute read

The Fred Kersley trained Cappo D'Oro has been rock solid in recent efforts and appears well placed to break through at Ascot on Saturday.

A distinct model of consistency, Cappo D'Oro has finished second at his last two starts, both behind the much in-form Couleur Bizarre.

Although unable to wear down the latter on that occasion, he didn't have a great deal of luck and the engagement of Pike appears key.

A winner of two of his 14 starts, he has placed on a further four occasions and rates highly on best form.

From the good draw he shouldn't be far away and if able to repeat the level of his last start performance, he looks to set a decent standard.

On a day of shorties, Cappo D'Oro presents a worthy gamble at his current quote as we have marked the even money favourite (11.5% edge).

The Ben Pearce trained Fathnoxious disappointed last start, but is clearly better than that and is worth another chance racing on the fresh side (56 days).

An impressive winner at this C&D two back, she rates highly on best form and appears well placed with the added aid of the claim.

From the good draw she is expected to find the front and should be in this for a long way.
