The Michael Morton trained Nelson's Flight went down as favourite last start however he is worth sticking with at Belmont on Saturday.
Due to contest the fifth event, Nelson's Flight really impressed two back when spacing his rivals at Pinjarra over 1400m.
Led throughout on that occasion and returned decent figures in the process.Well tried to go back to back at Belmont last start, but felt Pike missed the boat when electing to take a sit, working home well to finish second behind Come On Board.
On the relatively quick back up (10 days) and appears well placed down in the weights. From the inside draw expect Pike to be more aggressive and he can certainly turn the tables on Come On Board.
Only lightly raced he remains open to further improvement and appears decent odds at his current quote of $4.40.He started the 11-8 favourite in a similar event last start and hence he is expected to firm come the jump.
If able to replicate what he did two starts back, he is certainly going to make his presence felt and should prove very hard to beat.In the sixth event the Keith Mifflin trained Jaspara presents good value and shapes as a solid each-way contender.
Building nicely this preparation, Jaspara displayed sharp improvement at this course and distance last start when only narrowly beaten behind Jetoomy.Marked up to his peak on that occasion it's hard to see him taking a backwards step racing fourth up and with Brad Parnham sticking aboard he shapes as one of the hardest to beat.
The wide draw is a slight concern, however he can press forward and hopefully slot in just off the speed. With as much as $9/$3.20 being offered about his chances, more than happy to step in and take the gamble.
