Hucklebuck wins 2014 Yellowglen Stakes Group 3 $200,000 at Flemington (VIC) , 1400m.
Hucklebuck was midfield early but was immediately asked to improve and he showed good pace quickly going through to second. He then raced a bit keenly when eased before settling fourth, one out and one back. He moved up comfortably on turning for home, took the lead at the 200m and went on to score well by just under a length.
Alma's Fury enjoyed a perfect trip from his inside barrier (1) in third spot on the rails. He moved up to challenge on
passing the 200m and battled on nicely for second, just finding the winner a bit too classy.Generalife raced a bit keenly before settling sixth, between runners. He angled into the clear at the 300m, looked
a threat at the 150m then fought on for a sound third. The French import Pornichet also raced keenly (due to a moderate early tempo) back in eighth place. He was blocked on turning for home, got into the clear at the 150m and ran on well for a good (1.2 lengths) fourth.
Turquoise King held on fairly well for (1.6 lengths) fifth after being outside the leader to the turn, while Woodbine made ground from the tail of the field for (1.8 lengths) sixth.
