October Date wins 2015 Quayclean Chairman’s Stakes Group 3 $115,000 at Morphettville (SA) 3yo, 2020m.

October Date settled down in tenth position one off the fence approximately seven lengths from the leader Frank Heavens. He was shuffled back to second last in the middle stages of the race before commencing a wide run from the 700m, circling the field and taking the home turn on the outside. He loomed large at the 300m looking the certain winner before Maysoor fought back gamely on his inside, only getting his head in front right on the line. A very good effort to win.

Maysoor raced in sixth position three wide facing the breeze. He improved his position four and five wide from the 700m and was under pressure on turning for home. He hit the front soon after straightening, drifting out into the centre of the track and was joined by the winner at the 300m. Maysoor fought the whole way to the line to just go under laying in late on. A very good effort considering the extra ground he was forced to cover.
