Prominent harness racing owner Kevin Seymour would like to hit the country cup circuit in early 2025 if Leap To Fame is to make a trip to Victoria for February’s A G Hunter Cup.
The winner of over $3million was set to feature in the 2024 Victoria Cup, but was scratched due to a virus.
The ongoing illness ruled the star pacer out of a potential trip to New Zealand and stopped a charge towards a second-straight Inter Dominion crown.
While a campaign directed at a second A G Hunter Cup victory is still up in the air, the health and wellbeing of the pacer is the main priority.
"We are unsure where we are going to go," Seymour said. "We are still working on a program and with the problems we have had with the virus, we are not 100 per cent sure on what we are going to do with him.
"We think he is improving."
The Queensland owner would like to take his pacer on a tour of Victoria's country cups circuit if the stars align.
"We would like to wait another month or so and then we would have a better idea of where we stand," he said.
"The horse always comes first.
"I would like to look at the country areas and give some of those provincial people a chance to see him in action."
Seymour has had a strong connection with Victoria dating back to his maiden Vic Cup success as an owner back in 2010 with Mr Feelgood.
He also had Leap To Fame take out the Cranbourne Cup after his Hunter Cup triumph in February this year.
"I always like to come to Victoria, and they always look after us well," he said.
Leap To Fame has won 44 races from 55 starts.
