Winning Trainer: Ben, Will & JD Hayes (Will speaking)
Winning combination: "Match made in heaven. He knows this horse very well. He was a jockey that first brought Dublin into form. He's a horse that just loves to be peeling through the field, and today couldn't have worked out better."
"It was a very easy conversation pre-race. For a man that's come overseas, he knows him very well so we just left it to him."
On the horse: "He's a horse that needs to have a lot of go his way to win. He's very sound, he's got great constitution, but he has been up a long time, so we'll see how he pulls up going forward."
Winning Jockey: xxxxx
Good association with the horse: "He's a super horse. Delighted for all the connections. This fella gave me my first winner last year, and he sent me off on a high in Flemington. I think it's 100% strike rate, three out of three, so delighted. The boys do a great job with him, keeping him fresh. I think that's the key to him, but a great bunch of owners, all the Ryans and all the other crew, it's great for them, so it's been a great day."
Needs the right run: "You just have to ride the races you find. When you're drawn out that wide, it's not ideal in a horse like him that needs to be in and get cover, so he didn't jump good, and I was able to just beeline him, and he went good and even the whole way, but the further around, the better he got, and he loves coming through them.
"I was always going to be back there anyway. That was the plan, just to get back, get in, ride him for luck, and he loves it. He makes his own luck."
