Simon Thomas has a pair of specials for Hill Stakes Day at Rosehill.
Golden Slipper runner-up Coleman returns to Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, in an attempt to return to winning form in the Group 2 Canadian Club Roman Consul Stakes (1200m).
The promising son of Pierata is our best of the day and looks well placed third-up after contesting open Group 1 company at his last two outings.
The Victorian colt from the astute Matt Laurie stable found the 1000m too sharp when sixth in the Group 1 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley first-up. He then drew the inside gate when having a chequered run to finish sixth behind Southport Tycoon in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley.
Tomorrow, Coleman comes back to his own age group and brings superior ratings against inferior opposition.
Hovering around the $3.70 quote he looks great value and reunites with Kerrin McEvoy who rode him in the Golden Slipper and his last two runs.
Our next best comes up in the Tapp-Craig (1400m), with the improving filly More Territories.
The O'Shea and Charlton trained filly is third-up today and will find this more to her liking with the blinkers added for the first time.
Currently at $6.50 from the good gate, she looks great each way value.
