Winning Trainer: Shane Nichols
On the filly: "We've always had a good opinion of her but she's been plagued with soft tracks, which she doesn't like.
"We only went to Flemington instead of a maiden because at that time the tracks were all heavy and we thought we'd give her a run at Flemington and she didn't have much luck, should have finished closer, and then we gave her a break brought her back.
"She's matured up, trailed up well and was pretty good today - they ran low-57s (seconds) and she was convincing enough. She's a promising enough filly that we do think a lot of."
On the way the race unfolded: "A good stick to Zac, she realised that Mrs Archibald was going to kick up and give him a nice trail and as long as there was an out (he would be right) but when she came off the fence she put them to bed pretty quickly I thought."
What's next?: "We might give her a throw at the stumps in the Thoroughbred Club Stakes on the 16th. We won it last year with a promising maiden winner so we'd like history to repeat.
"She'll get her chance Saturday metro if not better hopefully."
Winning Jockey: Zac Spain
On the win: "It was good to see her do that today because she's been promising to do it for a long time.
"She only got beaten three lengths by First Settler at Flemington and got knocked down halfway up the straight and she's just not a straight horse.
"Today, she drew perfect, the track is in perfect order and when she hit the front today she had a bit of a look around - she felt like she still had plenty to give - so she's a filly I've always had a lot of time and glad all the hard work's paid off."
On her as a filly: "She's city class for sure and we've always thought that throughout. All of her trials suggested that as well, she's always trialled up really well, it just hasn't gone to plan at the races, she's either ran into soft tracks or been up the straight.
She got a good track today, drew a good barrier and she showed what she's been promising."
