India captain Rohit Sharma has returned to cricket ahead of the second Test against Australia in Adelaide, playing in the Prime Minister's XI match.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are poised to get crucial match time before the Adelaide Test, named to return for India against the Prime Minister's XI.
Rohit won the toss and opted to bowl at Manuka Oval on Sunday, with rain finally clearing in Canberra after the opening day was washed out on Saturday.
The final day of the two-day match is being played as a limited-overs fixture with a pink ball still in use, with each side to face 50 overs each.
India have named their entire touring squad to feature in the fixture, after Rohit missed their first Test win in Perth while back home for the birth of his child.
Gill, meanwhile, did not play due to a broken thumb. He returned to the nets to bat on Friday and is now expected to play in Adelaide's day-night Test.
Given the match does not carry first-class status, there is no limit on the amount of players who can take part from each side.
