Racing and Sports Pty Ltd was co-founded in 1999 by Gary Crispe and Robert Vilkaitis to take advantage of the emerging platform offered by the internet and its growing popularity. The launch of Racing and Sports ('RAS') saw the introduction of a premium and comprehensive website to the market, which offered quality products for direct users and addressed the gap in the market for a trusted supplier of wholesale racing data and enhanced content for media organisations and wagering operators.
Today, RAS is a leading provider of fully integrated premium data, enhanced content, and software as a service ('SaaS') solutions to the global racing and wagering industries. RAS services clients across a number of product segments, which include Wholesale Data, Content and Distribution, Wagering Technology and Services, Specialist Data Services, Digital and Media and Consulting and Integrity Services.
In operating both a B2B and B2C technology-enabled business model, RAS currently services a longstanding, established and geographically diverse customer base of racing bodies and authorities, wagering operators, media and digital organisations and retail and private clients.
The RAS headquarters are in Australia's capital, Canberra. In 2016, support operations were established in Colombo, Sri Lanka to provide cost-effective access to highly skilled IT Programmers, quality control and 24/7 operational support. In 2019, an office was established in York, United Kingdom, as a base to grow the business development, sales and operations teams to service the growing UK and European markets. In 2022, offices in New Zealand and the United States were established.
The Racing and Sports free website is an acclaimed thoroughbred race-form resource, targeting all of the significant racing jurisdictions globally.
The website provides race cards, news, and interactive form 24/7 for race meetings in many countries. The website content is displayed in both English and Mandarin Chinese - the only thoroughbred website to have this capability.
Our racing and breeding database encompasses 100's of millions of pieces of horse racing data, form and ratings information. It contains the detailed race records of more than 660,000 thoroughbred race horses (increasing regularly) in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, South Africa, UK, Ireland, France and Germany with more to come.
This database allows for every individual run - in every race - to be thoroughly and efficiently analysed - and provides the foundation for Racing and Sports' market-tested global handicap.
