Ascot is a famous English racecourse located in the small town of Ascot, Berkshire, and used for thoroughbred horse racing. It is one of the leading racecourses in the United Kingdom. There is the straight course which can cover up to a mile and the round course which has races from a mile up to more than double that distance. The course is closely associated with the British Royal Family, being approximately six miles from Windsor Castle. Each year in June it conducts five straight days of racing for Royal meeting with the Queen in attendance where seven Group 1s are conducted.
