The Bulldogs have been on the up this season and find themselves in sixth place on the ladder ahead of the arrival of the third-place Sharks.

It was the Sharks who ran out 25-6 winners on home soil when these sides last met in Round 2 and now Cronulla will see if they can complete the double over the Bulldogs in the surroundings of Accor Stadium in Sydney.

Bulldogs seeking a response

The Bulldogs were brought back down to earth with a 26-8 defeat at the hands of the Sydney Roosters last time out, after what was an impressive run.

Beating the likes of the St. George/Illawarra Dragons, Newcastle Knights and Parramatta Eels, the Bulldogs' winning streak was brought to an abrupt end by the Roosters.

Looking to get back in the saddle, Canterbury can next look forward to testing themselves against one of the top teams in the competition in Cronulla.

The Bulldogs have made Accor Stadium a tough place for opposition sides to go to, having won all of their last five games there.

Canterbury will be without fullback Connor Tracey due to concussion so Blake Taaffe gets a starting role.

Bronson Xerri has recovered from a hamstring injury, while captain Stephen Crichton is currently among the reserves with the hope he comes through Origin Two unscathered.

The Bulldogs are 2.50 to win on Friday night, while Canterbury are available at 1.91 with +5.5 points in the Line market.

Fresh Sharks eyeing double

Having dispatched the Bulldogs early in the season, the Sharks will be looking to complete a double over Canterbury that would take them level with Melbourne Storm at the top of the ladder.

The Sharks will be feeling fresh after a Roun 16 bye but have some disappointing form to address, with three defeats in their last four games.

Cronulla can take comfort from some big wins over the Bulldogs in recent meetings, having scored 106 points against Canterbury in their last three meetings.

The Sharks have a settled side going into this game, with just the one change to the squad that were beaten by the Dolphins last time out.

Prop Tuku Hau Tapuha has been added to the bench in place of Braden Hamlin-Uele, while Teig Wilton is edging his way back from a shoulder injury but Friday might come slightly too soon for the back-rower.

The Sharks are 1.54 to get back to winning ways at Accor Stadium, in a match that might well be a high-scoring shootout in Sydney.
