AFL: Swans out to keep flying high

3 minute read

Sydney will be out to consolidate top spot on the AFL ladder when they travel to Adelaide to take on the Crows on Saturday.

The Swans have won the last five games on the spin to take them eight points clear and they can be backed at 3.50 to go on and win the grand final.

However there can be no room for complacency when they take on an Adelaide side that are fighting to keep their finals hopes alive.

The Crows are 10 points behind the top eight and can be backed at 26.00 get there come the end of the season.

Hawthorn have a much better chance of playing finals at 6.00 and will be keen to keep the good times rolling against Richmond at the MCG.

The Tigers were given a confidence boost last week however, and the aim will be to pick up back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

300 up for Dusty

. What: Richmond v Hawthorn
. Where: MCG, Melbourne
. When: 16:35 (AEST), Saturday 15th June 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Richmond 2.60, Hawthorn 1.50

Richmond have even more motivation to get a win over the Hawks as Dustin Martin prepares to make his 300th AFL appearance.

Martin was key as the Tigers won three premierships in a four-year spell, earning him legendary status at the club.

Richmond will be desperate to celebrate the milestone with a win, while Martin can be backed at 8.00 to boot the first goal of the game.

The Tigers picked up just their second win of the season when knocking over Adelaide by seven points last week and can take heart from the performance.

Back on home soil, they are priced at 6.00 to beat Hawthorn by 1-12 points.

Hawthorn are the same price to win by the same margin, and are one of the form teams of the competition after winning six of the last eight games.

Jack Gunston kicked three goals in the six-point win over Greater Western Sydney and is 11.00 to kick the first of the game.

Swans march on

. What: Adelaide v Sydney
. Where: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
. When: 19:30 (AEST), Saturday 15th June 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 7
. Odds: Adelaide 3.35, Sydney 1.35

There appears to be no stopping Sydney, who recorded their 11th win of the season when beating Geelong by 30 points last week.

Tom Papley was the star of the show when booting four goals in the game, and he is priced at 12.00 to kick the first of the game or 1.18 to score at anytime.

The Swans won this fixture by just one point last season, but will be expecting a bigger winning margin this year.

They can be backed at 5.50 to win by 25-36 points.

Adelaide have won just one game in the last five to leave their finals hopes dangling by a thread.

Defeats against Hawthorn and Richmond in the last two games have hit them hard, so it does not bode well as the ladder-leaders come to town.

If they are to pull off a shock it will be tight, and they are 6.50 to win by 1-12 points.
