Kiss to complete Taree double

The penultimate race on the Taree card is a 1007m Benchmark 58 handicap event.

A field of 16 has been declared for the race with Floss's One expected to start favourite for trainer Glen Milligan.

The filly has made just four starts to date and ended her last prep with a length second in a 1000m maiden on a heavy 9 track here in December.

The three-year-old confirmed she appreciates wet tracks when coming from off the pace to justify odds-on favouritism over the same track and trip on 27th May.

The daughter of Super One bounded on jumping prior to going on to salute by just under a length that day and she tackles previous winners for the first time in this contest.

A wide alley isn't ideal in this race however and she looks opposable with the in-form CUPID'S KISS preferred.

The five-year-old has raced at this venue on each of her last three starts, with those efforts seeing her finish in the first three on each occasion.

The pick followed up a narrow margin win here with a good third, beaten less than a length in a 1000m Benchmark 58 handicap event.

The mare finished strongly from off the pace on each occasion but was ridden closer to the speed prior to saluting by three lengths over this track and trip on 9th June.

Jeremy Sylvester's mare contested a Benchmark 66 handicap held on a heavy 8 track that day and she has a good barrier next to the rail for this race.

Apprentice Shae Wilkes takes a valuable three kilograms off the mares back and her mount looks capable of completing a double.

Express to deliver Hawkesbury victory

The fifth race at Hawkesbury is an interesting Benchmark 68 handicap set to take place over 1300m.

Let's Go Bro scored in a 1400m Class 1 handicap at Kembla Grange in December and he is expected to have his supporters in this contest.

The four-year-old subsequently finished fifth when jumping at big odds for a valuable 1300m Class 4 set weights contest at Gold Coast the following month.

Jarrod Austin's gelding gets a drop in grade here, having finished down the field in an 1100m Benchmark 72 handicap at Rosehill at the start of this month.

However, SOVEREIGN EXPRESS is the pick to record his first win since saluting at Hawkesbury in October.

That Hawkesbury triumph came over 1600m but the gelding has shown good form over around this distance in the past.

Those previous efforts included a close second over 1350m at Wyong in September and he resumed with a close up fifth over this distance at Warwick Farm earlier this month.

Sovereign Express was beaten less than a length when jumping at odds of $101 for a Benchmark 72 handicap held on a soft 7 track at Warwick Farm.

The son of Bullet Train had to be switched wide to challenge in that event and he is taken to deliver a victory for the Jason Attard & Lucy Keegan-Attard team.

Wicked to break maiden

The second race of the day on the synthetic track at Ballarat is a 1000m maiden contest.

Experienced EXTREMELY WICKED takes the eye, here having demonstrated good placed form this season.

The three-year-old registered two second place finishes last prep, including when beaten less than two lengths over 1000m on a soft 5 track at Yarra Glen in October.

Extremely Wicked was spelled following that effort and resumed with a third, beaten less than two-and-a-half-lengths over this distance at Cranbourne on 24th May.

This filly jumped at short odds when racing on a soft 5 track that day and is expected to have no issues with the switch to a synthetic surface.

The pick is set to make her first start since joining the Gavin Bedggood team and she can make a perfect start to her time with her new handler by saluting here.
