Canterbury: Race 7; #3 Union Army 
Looks a very open betting race but I am happy to take on UNION ARMY here who is the current favourite. There looks to be good early speed in the race but UNION ARMY isn't exactly a runner who expects to settle up on speed. From barrier 1 he is a chance of getting shuffled back on the rails and in an awkward position. On top of that he is 1st up into this race and isn't much of a 1st up performer. Follow him as he goes deeper into the prep but not for me in this race.
Moonee Valley: Race 3; #1 Cachink
I thought Savvyrocker would have been a rough hope in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas on Saturday if connections chose to accept, but they've lobbed here instead and I think she should be favourite. Cachink was an impressive maiden winner last time at Warrnambool, but he's going to find this tougher.
GREYHOUNDS
Sandown Park: Race 4; #2 Matt Loch
Matt Loch has opened up very short in early markets and hasn't raced since running last at Shepparton on November 1. So he could be a fitness query in a hot prelude like this so I am taking him on.
Sandown Park: Race 8; #8 Pass The Buck
Pass The Buck is the best greyhound in the race but I am purely against him because of the outside box. He has never drawn the outside box on a city track before and Box 8 at this venue has undone the very best dogs in the country. Mepunga Reward could also prove tough to navigate at the first turn.
Sandown Park: Race 9; #1 Hector Fawley
If Big Energy can replicate his brilliant win here last week he may lead all the way again. Vincent Bale rarely runs a bad race and must be respected. Both of these dogs really should be able to pinch a break on Hector Fawley mid race and at this stage of his career and even with the smaller field, I just can't see Hector Fawley being able to reel them in.
